Timberwolves owner's daughter encouraging women to pursue STEM fields
Jordyn Glen Taylor is a passionate advocate for women in STEM
Jordyn Glen Taylor, the daughter of Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx owner Glen Taylor, is on a mission to encourage more women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Through her work with the Glen Taylor Foundation, she has launched several initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering women in STEM fields.
One of Taylor's most notable initiatives is the "She Can STEM" program, which provides scholarships, mentorship opportunities, and hands-on learning experiences for young women interested in STEM. The program has already reached hundreds of students across Minnesota and has helped to increase the number of women pursuing STEM degrees and careers.
Taylor's passion for STEM stems from her own experiences as a woman in the field
Taylor holds a degree in computer science from Stanford University and worked as a software engineer before joining the family business. She has firsthand experience with the challenges that women face in STEM fields, and she is determined to create a more inclusive and equitable environment for women.
"I know what it's like to be the only woman in the room," Taylor said. "I want to make sure that other women don't have to go through that same experience."
Taylor is using her platform to raise awareness about the importance of STEM education for women
Taylor is using her platform as a public figure to raise awareness about the importance of STEM education for women. She speaks at conferences, writes articles, and mentors young women who are interested in STEM careers. She is also a member of the board of directors for the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT).
"I want to show young women that it is possible to have a successful career in STEM," Taylor said. "I want to inspire them to pursue their dreams and to make a difference in the world."
Taylor's work is making a difference in the lives of women and girls
Taylor's work is making a difference in the lives of women and girls across the country. Her initiatives are helping to increase the number of women in STEM fields, and she is inspiring a new generation of women to pursue their dreams.
"Jordyn is a role model for women and girls everywhere," said NCWIT CEO Ruchi Sanghvi. "She is showing the world that women can achieve anything they set their minds to."
