Los Angeles Dodgers: The Bettors' Favorite
Stay Tuned for Game Three, October 28
The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers will face off in Game 3 of the World Series this Friday, October 28. The Dodgers are favored to win, with odds ranging from -155 to -170, while the Yankees are underdogs, with odds ranging from +135 to +150.
The Dodgers have a number of factors working in their favor in the World Series. For one thing, they have more experience in the postseason. LA has played in the World Series three times in the past five years and they have won the National League West division for seven consecutive years.
The Dodgers also have the best starting pitcher in the series in Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw was named the National League Cy Young Award winner this season, and he has a 3.03 ERA in the postseason. Also, the Dodgers have a strong lineup that includes Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, and Corey Seager.
Yankees Pitching, Batting Struggles
Pitchers: Montgomery or Taillon?
The Yankees, on the other hand, have some question marks in their rotation. Gerrit Cole, who was widely considered to be the best pitcher in baseball this season, was shaky in his Game 1 start, allowing three runs in five innings. Jordan Montgomery was tough in Game 2, but Manager Aaron Boone may choose to go with Jameson Taillon for Game 3.
Offensive Struggles Continue
The Yankees' offense has also been struggling in the World Series, averaging just three runs per game. Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge have been particularly ineffective, combining to go 0-for-16 with 10 strikeouts in the first two games.
Even so, the Yankees are a dangerous team, and they can't be counted out. They have a lot of experience in the postseason, and they have a number of players who can step up and make a big play. The Dodgers will need to be at their best to beat the Yankees in Game 3.
