Emmerdale star Mike Parr has teased that there will be 'fireworks' when Ross Barton returns to the village and reunites with his ex-wife, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).
Parr, who left the soap in 2018, will reprise his role as Ross later this year and he has promised that his character's comeback will be explosive.
“There's always going to be fireworks when Ross comes back,” he said during an interview, “He's got a lot of unfinished business with Charity and it's going to be interesting to see how they pick up the pieces."
Ross and Charity have a long and tumultuous history together. They were married in 2014, but their relationship was plagued by Ross’s infidelity and Charity's drinking problems. The couple split in 2016 and Ross left the village two years later.
However, it seems that Ross still has feelings for Charity and he is determined to win her back. While it is unclear how Charity will react to Ross's return, it is certain that there will be plenty of drama when the former couple come face-to-face once again.
Parr is excited to be returning to Emmerdale and he is looking forward to working with Atkins again.
"I'm really looking forward to getting back on set and working with Emma again,” he said. “We had a great time working together before and I think we'll be able to pick up where we left off."
Emmerdale viewers can expect to see Ross Barton return to the village later this year.
