Ryan Dunn is Not Your Typical NBA Rookie

Raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Ryan Dunn's basketball journey began on the courts of his local YMCA. Despite his towering height, he was initially drawn to football. As he grew older, however, his passion shifted towards basketball. Ryan's exceptional skills on the court quickly garnered attention, leading him to become a standout player at Creighton Preparatory School.

In 2021, Dunn committed to Creighton University, following in the footsteps of his father, who played football for the Bluejays. During his time in college, Ryan made a significant impact, showcasing his versatility and athleticism. He averaged 12.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, earning All-Big East Honorable Mention honors in his junior season.

After graduating from Creighton, Dunn declared for the 2023 NBA Draft. He impressed scouts with his length, mobility, and ability to contribute in various ways on the court. The Memphis Grizzlies selected him with the 29th overall pick, making him the first player from Nebraska to be drafted into the NBA since 2013.

Not Your Typical Rookie

Unlike many rookies who enter the NBA with limited experience, Dunn brings a wealth of knowledge and maturity to the Grizzlies. Having played four years of college basketball, he has developed a deep understanding of the game and a strong work ethic.
