Steelers Win Preseason Opener
The Pittsburgh Steelers kicked off their preseason with a 24-21 victory over the New York Giants on Thursday night. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky led the Steelers on a 10-play, 75-yard touchdown drive on the opening possession of the game. Rookie wide receiver Calvin Austin III capped off the drive with a 9-yard touchdown reception, his first of the preseason. Austin also made a key play in the fourth quarter, returning a punt 69 yards for a touchdown that gave the Steelers a 21-14 lead.

Other notable performances for the Steelers included running back Najee Harris, who rushed for 50 yards on 10 carries, and wide receiver Diontae Johnson, who had four catches for 36 yards. The Steelers' defense also forced three turnovers, including two interceptions by cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon. The Giants were led by quarterback Daniel Jones, who threw for 116 yards and a touchdown. Running back Saquon Barkley had 14 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown for the Giants.
