Parrots Missing from London Zoo Found Behind Cambridgeshire Garden
2 Chilean flamingos and a scarlet macaw set off on an adventure that lasted 3 years
Three parrots missing from London Zoo for almost three years have been found in the garden of a house in Cambridgeshire. The two Chilean flamingos and a scarlet macaw went missing in 2020 and were feared to have been stolen.
However, they were discovered by a homeowner in Witchford, near Ely, on Tuesday. The birds were spotted in the garden of the house by the homeowner, who contacted the RSPCA.
The birds are now back at the zoo and are said to be in good health
The RSPCA said the birds were "very thin" when they were found, but are now back at the zoo and are said to be in good health. It is not yet known how the birds escaped from the zoo, but the RSPCA is investigating.
The zoo is delighted to have the birds back and is thanking the homeowner for their help
A spokesperson for London Zoo said: "We are delighted to have the birds back and would like to thank the homeowner for their help in finding them. We are still investigating how the birds escaped, but we are just happy to have them back safe and sound.
