Pacers' Johnny Furphy: Good to go Wednesday
Furphy was not expected to be ready until Christmas
The rookie guard has been out since early October with a right knee injury
Indiana Pacers guard Johnny Furphy will make his season debut Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors, the team announced Monday.
Furphy, a rookie out of Purdue, has been out since early October with a right knee injury. He was initially expected to be out until Christmas, but he has made a faster-than-expected recovery.
"Johnny has worked really hard to get back on the court," Pacers coach Nate Bjorkgren said. "He's a talented player, and we're excited to have him back."
Furphy is averaging 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in three preseason games.
The Pacers are 2-3 in Furphy's absence. They will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak when they host the Raptors on Wednesday.
