Matthew Perry's family members are remembering him one year after his untimely death.
In an exclusive interview with People, Perry's sister, Milly Perry, said that she and her family are still struggling to come to terms with his loss.
"It's been a very difficult year," she said. "We miss him so much." Perry died on March 4, 2023, at the age of 51, after a long battle with addiction.
Perry's family said that they are grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received from fans and friends.
"It's been a comfort to know that so many people loved Matthew," Milly said. "He was a very special person, and he will be deeply missed."
Perry's family is also working to raise awareness about addiction and to help others who are struggling with the disease.
"We want to help people understand that addiction is a disease," Milly said. "It's not a moral failing, and it can happen to anyone."
