Joe Hugill interview: Man Utd loanee on working with Ruud van Nistelrooy & playing with Mainoo
Loan move to Norwich
Joe Hugill has admitted that he was surprised to be sent out on loan by Manchester United this summer, but he is determined to make the most of his opportunity at Norwich City.
The 19-year-old striker joined the Canaries on a season-long loan deal in July, and he has already made a positive impression at Carrow Road.
Working with Ruud van Nistelrooy
Hugill has been working closely with Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is now the manager of United's Under-23s side.
The Dutchman is a legendary striker, and Hugill is grateful for the opportunity to learn from him.
“He’s a great coach,” Hugill said. “He’s really helped me with my finishing and my movement. I’m really enjoying working with him.”
Playing with Mainoo
Hugill has also been impressed by his young teammate, Charlie Mainoo.
The 17-year-old midfielder has been a regular starter for Norwich this season, and he has shown great potential.
“He’s a very good player,” Hugill said. “He’s very composed on the ball and he’s always looking to make things happen. I think he has a bright future ahead of him.”
