ITV Emmerdale's Ross Barton star reveals he turned down another acting role to return to the soap
Michael Parr opens up about what enticed him back to the popular ITV soap
Michael Parr, who plays Ross Barton in Emmerdale, has opened up about why he decided to return to the soap after turning down another acting role.
In an interview with Digital Spy, Parr revealed that he originally left Emmerdale in 2018 because he felt like his character had run its course. However, he was later approached by the show's producer, Kate Oates, who convinced him to come back.
"Kate told me she had some really exciting plans for Ross," Parr said. "And when she told me what they were, I couldn't say no."
Parr said that he was particularly drawn to the storyline that would see Ross become a father. "It's going to be a really challenging time for Ross, but also a really rewarding one," he said. "I can't wait to see how it all unfolds."
Parr also said that he is grateful for the opportunity to return to Emmerdale. "It's like coming home," he said. "I love the show and I love the people who work on it. It's great to be back."
Ross Barton is set to return to Emmerdale this autumn. Fans are eagerly awaiting his return, and are sure to be thrilled with the dramatic storylines that await him.
