One of the UK’s best-loved game shows is set to return to screens next week, despite the reboot causing a stir among viewers.
ITV’s The Chase will be back on our screens on Monday (29th August) with a new series and a whole new look . . . but not everyone is happy about it.
The popular quiz show, which sees a team of four contestants take on one of six Chasers in a bid to win a cash prize, has been given a makeover for its new series, but some viewers are not impressed.
Many have taken to social media to express their disappointment with the new set, with some saying it looks “cheap” and “tacky”. Others have said they will no longer be watching the show due to the changes.
However, ITV has defended the changes, saying they were made to make the show “more visually appealing” and to “bring it up to date with modern audiences”.
It remains to be seen whether the new-look The Chase will be a hit with viewers, but it is sure to be one of the most talked-about shows on TV when it returns next week.
