Home Bargains pledges £2.5m to Liverpool baby hospice Zoe's Place
Store signs long-term deal to become hospice's biggest corporate partner
Home Bargains has pledged £2.5m to Zoë's Place baby hospice in Liverpool over the next five years.
The discount retailer has signed a deal to become the hospice's biggest corporate partner, providing vital funds to support its work providing palliative, respite and end-of-life care to babies and infants aged 0-5 years.
The donation will help to fund essential nursing care, specialist equipment, therapies and activities, as well as helping to cover the cost of running the hospice's two facilities in West Derby and Wirral.
Zoë's Place provides a home-from-home environment for babies and infants with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families.
The hospice cares for around 200 families every year, and relies on donations to cover the majority of its running costs.
Home Bargains' donation is the largest single donation the hospice has ever received from a corporate partner.
Joe Morris, Chief Executive of Home Bargains, said: "We are delighted to be able to support Zoë's Place and the amazing work they do. We know that the hospice provides vital care and support to babies and infants with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families. We are proud to be able to play a part in helping them to continue their work."
Zoë's Place Chief Executive, Jane Fisher, said: "We are incredibly grateful to Home Bargains for their generous donation. This is the largest single donation we have ever received from a corporate partner, and it will make a huge difference to the families we care for. We rely on donations to cover the majority of our running costs, so this donation will help us to continue to provide the specialist care and support that our families need."
