Giants Turn to Third-String Practice Squad Quarterback
Daniel Jones, Tyrod Taylor Injuries Force Brian Daboll’s Hand
Giants to Start Davis Webb in Week 17 Against Indianapolis Colts
The New York Giants have been hit hard by injuries to their quarterbacks, with Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor both ruled out for the team's Week 17 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
As a result, the Giants will turn to third-string practice squad quarterback Davis Webb, who will make his first career start.
Webb, who was signed by the Giants in September, has yet to appear in a regular-season game.
The 27-year-old Webb was a third-round pick by the New York Jets in 2017 and has also spent time with the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Giants are hoping that Webb can provide a spark to an offense that has struggled in recent weeks.
New York has lost three of its last four games and is in danger of missing the playoffs.
The Giants will face a Colts team that is also coming off a loss and is fighting for a playoff spot.
The game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday, January 1, at 1:00 PM EST.
