Giants Must Focus on Future and Sell at NFL Trade Deadline
Which Players Can They Move?
The New York Giants are 1-5 and their season is quickly spiraling out of control. After a promising start to the season, the Giants have now lost five straight games and are in danger of missing the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.
With the NFL trade deadline approaching on November 1st, the Giants must decide whether to sell off some of their veterans in order to acquire draft picks and rebuild for the future.
Here are some of the players that the Giants could potentially trade:
- Saquon Barkley, RB
Barkley has been one of the most productive running backs in the NFL since he was drafted by the Giants in 2018. However, he has also been injury-prone, and he is currently dealing with an ankle injury.
- Kenny Golladay, WR
Golladay signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Giants in 2021, but he has been a disappointment so far. He has only 18 catches for 223 yards and one touchdown this season.
- Kadarius Toney, WR
Toney is a talented wide receiver, but he has also been plagued by injuries. He has only played in two games this season.
- Leonard Williams, DL
Williams is a three-time Pro Bowl selection, but he has not been as productive this season as he was in previous years. He has only 2.5 sacks in six games.
- James Bradberry, CB
Bradberry is a two-time Pro Bowl selection, but he is in the final year of his contract and is expected to test free agency in 2023.
The Giants are not expected to trade all of these players, but they could trade one or two of them in order to acquire draft picks and rebuild for the future.
