Giants Inactives: Week 5
Injury Report
The New York Giants have released their list of inactive players for Week 5's matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) and wide receiver Sterling Shepard (hamstring) have both been ruled out. Barkley has been dealing with an ankle injury since the preseason, while Shepard injured his hamstring in the Week 4 loss to the Chicago Bears. Safety Julian Love (concussion) is also out. He suffered a concussion in the Week 4 game and has not practiced this week. Defensive lineman Leonard Williams (knee) and offensive tackle Evan Neal (knee) are both questionable. Williams has been dealing with a knee injury since the Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans, while Neal injured his knee in the Week 4 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Outlook for the Game
The Giants will be without some of their key players on offense and defense in Week 5. Barkley is the team's leading rusher, and Shepard is one of their top wide receivers. Love is a key member of the secondary, and Williams is a key member of the defensive line. The Giants will need to find a way to replace the production of these players if they want to beat the Packers. The Packers are a tough opponent, and the Giants will need to be at their best to win.
Fantasy Impact
The Giants' inactives will have a major impact on fantasy football. Barkley and Shepard are both must-starts when healthy, but they will both be out in Week 5. Williams is also a key IDP player, and his absence will hurt fantasy owners who have him on their roster. Fantasy owners should consider benching these players in Week 5.
