Fonseca: Milan ‘affected’ by postponement of Bologna game, Leao ‘not a problem’

Milan coach Paulo Fonseca has admitted that the postponement of their game against Bologna has affected his team’s preparations, but he insists that Rafael Leao is ‘not a problem’.

The Rossoneri were due to face Bologna on Monday, but the game was postponed due to the death of Gianluca Vialli.

Fonseca said that the postponement has disrupted his team’s rhythm, but he is confident that they will be ready for their next game against Salernitana on Wednesday.

"It’s not easy to prepare for a game when you don’t know when you’re going to play," Fonseca said. "We had to change our plans at the last minute, and that’s not ideal. But we’re professionals, and we’ll be ready for Salernitana."

Fonseca also addressed the rumors that Leao is unhappy at Milan and is looking to leave the club.

"Leao is a very important player for us," Fonseca said. "He’s a young player with a lot of potential, and we’re happy to have him. I’m not worried about him at all. He’s a professional, and he’s committed to Milan."

Leao has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks, but Fonseca is adamant that the Portuguese forward is not for sale.

"I’ve spoken to Leao, and he’s told me that he’s happy at Milan," Fonseca said. "He’s not looking to leave the club."

Milan are currently fourth in Serie A, and Fonseca is confident that they can challenge for the title this season.

"We have a good team, and we’re playing well," Fonseca said. "We’re confident that we can challenge for the title this season."
