FIRST ALERT 7 Forecast for Tuesday, October 29th, 2024
Weather Alert
FIRST ALERT 7 Meteorologist Nick Kosir says we still have a potential for a strong or severe storms late Tuesday night as a powerful cold front approaches.
What Do We Expect
Showers and thunderstorms remain possible during the daylight hours Tuesday but we *think* they will be scattered. With a lot of dry time in between.
As we get toward evening, a line of stronger storms is expected to develop to our west. This line will likely impact our area between 10PM and 2AM Wednesday morning.
Damaging Winds
The main threat with these storms will be damaging winds with gusts up to 60 mph possible. As a result, a **Wind Advisory** has been issued for our entire area from 10PM Tuesday until 6AM Wednesday for the potential of damaging wind gusts.
Flash flooding
Heavy rain will also be possible in any storms that develop with localized flooding possible. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area in a **Slight Risk** for severe weather (Level 2 out of 5) mainly for the wind threat.
Tornado Threat
An isolated tornado is also possible but the threat is low. You should still be prepared to take shelter just in case. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts, including a NOAA Weather Radio.
Timing
Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening, but the line of stronger storms is expected between 10PM Tuesday and 2AM Wednesday.
