Drivers warned of 90-minute delays after crash on M1 leaves two lanes closed

Motorists have been warned of delays of up to 90 minutes after a crash on the M1. Two lanes were closed on the northbound carriageway between junctions 33 and 34 near Rotherham after a crash involving two lorries and a car.
One person has been taken to hospital. The road was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Highways England said lanes one and two (of four) remain closed and there are long delays in the area. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys or consider alternative routes.
A diversion is in place via the A630 and A631.
Delays of more than 90 minutes are expected
Highways England said: “There are currently delays of over 90 minutes above normal journey times. Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journeys or consider alternative routes.
“Please be aware that further delays are likely later this afternoon when the road is expected to fully reopen.”
