Bomb Kills One and Injures Two at Clydebank Home

Emergency services were called to a house in the Dalmuir area of Clydebank

One person has died and two others injured following a suspected unexploded bomb detonated at a house in Clydebank.

Emergency services were called to the property on Overtoun Court just before 7.30pm on Sunday (26 February).

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "One person was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment."

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they were alerted to the incident at 7.25pm.

"Operations Control mobilised five appliances to the scene and firefighters extinguished a fire within the property," a spokesperson said.

"Two casualties were handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews remained on scene to assist emergency service partners."

The Scottish Ambulance Service said they were called at 7.27pm to reports of a "fire and bomb explosion."

"We dispatched two ambulances, a paramedic response unit, our special operations team, and our trauma team to the scene," a spokesperson said.

"We transported two patients to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for further treatment."

Police Scotland said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
