Birmingham Live accused of pushing clickbait articles about PIP reforms
A prominent disability charity has condemned Birmingham Live for pushing “clickbait” articles about PIP reforms. The charity said the articles were “scaremongering” and “inaccurate” and accused the website of “putting vulnerable people at risk.”

Birmingham Live has published a number of articles about PIP reforms in recent weeks, many of which have been critical of the changes. The charity said the articles had caused “unnecessary distress” to disabled people and accused the website of “playing on people’s fears”.
In a statement, the charity said: “We are extremely concerned about the number of clickbait articles that Birmingham Live has published about PIP reforms. These articles are scaremongering and inaccurate, and they are putting vulnerable people at risk.”
“We urge Birmingham Live to stop publishing these articles and to focus on providing accurate and balanced information about PIP reforms. We also call on the website to apologize to the disabled people who have been affected by its clickbait articles.”
Birmingham Live has not yet responded to the charity’s criticism.
