Andhra Pradesh High Court Gets Three New Judges

New Appointments Approved by Central Government

In a move to strengthen the judiciary in Andhra Pradesh, the central government has approved the appointment of three new judges to the High Court of Andhra Pradesh. The appointments were made in consultation with the Supreme Court Collegium and the Andhra Pradesh government.

The three new judges appointed to the Andhra Pradesh High Court are:

  1. Jasti Chelameswar
  2. M. Satyanarayana Murthy
  3. D. Ramesh

Jasti Chelameswar is a senior advocate who has been practicing in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh for over 20 years. He has also served as the Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh.

M. Satyanarayana Murthy is a district judge who has been serving in the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service for over 15 years. He has also served as the Registrar General of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh.

D. Ramesh is a senior advocate who has been practicing in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh for over 15 years. He has also served as the Additional Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh.

The appointment of these three new judges is expected to help reduce the backlog of cases in the Andhra Pradesh High Court and improve the overall efficiency of the judiciary in the state.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court is one of the oldest and most respected high courts in India. It was established in 1862 and has jurisdiction over the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The High Court has a sanctioned strength of 37 judges, including the Chief Justice. However, there have been several vacancies in recent years, which has led to a backlog of cases.

The appointment of these three new judges is a welcome step towards addressing the shortage of judges in the Andhra Pradesh High Court and improving the overall efficiency of the judiciary in the state.
