All lanes have now reopened on the M1 in Derbyshire following an earlier accident involving two lorries.

Highways England said the accident happened on the northbound carriageway just before junction 29, and led to long delays.

The accident happened at around 6.30am and caused long delays for commuters.

Delays of up to an hour

At the height of the delays, there were tailbacks of up to an hour.

Police closed two lanes of the motorway, but they have now been reopened.
